Pick your stack

Each page shows the all-in and fold ranges of every position (UTG to small blind) for an 8-max tournament with an ante, hand by hand.

What push/fold means

With about 10 big blinds or fewer, a small raise leaves you pot-committed, so most hands are either all-in or fold. The ranges widen as your stack shrinks and as fewer players are left to act behind you. Compare the numbers for your stack and position, then practise the spots until the answer is automatic.

Questions

What stack size is push/fold?

Roughly 10 big blinds or fewer. Between 10 and 15 big blinds you mix all-ins with small raises, depending on position.

Are these charts for chip EV or ICM?

These charts are chip EV with an 8-max table and an ante. Near the bubble and at the final table payouts change the right play, which is what our ICM trainer is for.

How are the charts made?

They come from the progressGTO solution book: our own equilibrium computation with a modelled postflop. It is an approximation, not an exact solution.
